Position: Senior Lead Marine Process Engineer

Location: Buena Vista, Singapore

Duration: 24 Months Direct Hired Contract

 

Purpose:

To independently define concepts and critical deliverables, lead, plan, manage, control, engineering deliverables required for the assigned project effectively and efficiently according to specified technical requirements, timelines and budget, manage project resources and independently deal with and resolve all issues of the project, and provide guidance to the assigned team.

Responsibilities:

  • Understands the specific specifications and requirements of the assigned project and Industry
  • Standard, Classification Society and Regulatory requirements.
  • Plans and directs the running of process simulation software, prepares design calculation, performs simulation studies, and reviews the datasheets prepared by Engineers and reviewed by Senior Engineers. Where necessary, directs/prepares/conducts simulation studies
  • Directs Engineers and Senior Engineers in the team to develop engineering specifications (drawings, data sheets etc.) specific to the assigned project, reviews them and validates with the Project Manager and client before incorporating them in the RFQs.
  • Independently evaluates all the bids received for process and utility packages from various suppliers, performs a technical bid evaluation process, involves in cost estimation, ensures selected vendors meet technical/engineering and delivery requirements as stipulated in the project specifications and gives assessment to the Buyer who will follow up in the tender evaluation, price negotiation and award process.
  • Approve drawings and documents from team members as well as 3rd party-generated study reports and ensure the timely provision of accurate documents and specifications to the successful vendors to enable the latter to execute their work and deliverables.
  • Independently manages/develops/provide advice on solutions to technical/engineering and related issues by reviewing the issues/data and analysis and evaluating various options/measures using expert knowledge, seasoned experience and precedents and professional references where necessary.
  • Reports any deviation from company’s standard specification and practices, concept change to Department Manager and seek his approval on the solution.
  • Anticipate potential problems and takes preventive actions and independently handles variation in project execution. Develop unique solutions for complex technical problem that may include new design concept.
  • Visits suppliers, reviews test results of process equipment to ensure that they function as per specifications. Where necessary, works with the suppliers/contractors concerned to rectify the deficiencies making sure that they comply with the specifications and are ready on time.
  • Lead/participate in meetings, reviews progress and addresses interface/implementation/execution issues, escalates where necessary to ensure that the project proceeds timely and smoothly.
  • Independently evaluate the process requirement for all packages in marine & topside contributes to technical bid evaluation process, ensures selected vendor meet technical/engineering and delivery requirements as stipulated in the project specifications.
  • Review progress of projects and address complex interface/implementation/execution issues to ensure that the project proceed timely and smoothly.
  • Plans and organizes resources and schedule.
  • Provides technical/engineering support and advice to Construction/Commissioning, Offshore work at site, directs trouble shooting and follows up with stakeholders to rectify the gaps or problems. Handles more complex issues, and where necessary, provides off-site support and advice.
  • Independently prepare facility start-up procedures, finalizes with operation team input and provides expert advice / guidance / trouble shooting for facility start-up at offshore.
  • Guides/supervises junior Engineers and provide feedback to department manager for their performance.

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor or higher degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in process engineering in oil and gas sector for degree holders or minimum of 14 years of relevant working experience for Master degree holder,
  • Direct work experience on FPSO/FSO projects and
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant working experience in Shipyard.

  • AVEVA Engineering
  • Process simulation (e.g., UNISIM Design, etc.)
  • Piping system transient analysis and hydraulics (e.g., Flowmaster, etc.)
  • Fire water system hydraulics (e.g., Pipenet, etc.)
