Position: Plant Manager (Operations & Maintenance)

Role Overview:

As the Plant Manager, you will oversee and direct the operations and activities of the team to meet performance goals and ensure alignment with business plans and policies. Your role involves maintaining the reliability and efficiency of the plant's electrical systems, managing emergency responses, and driving a proactive maintenance culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage team operations to achieve set objectives and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance of plant electrical equipment to guarantee continuous operation.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and breakdowns, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and potential financial impacts.
  • Foster a culture of condition-based preventive maintenance through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and solution implementation to reduce reactive maintenance.
  • Offer technical expertise and support related to Photovoltaic Power Plants and Electrical Generation systems.
  • Define and implement cleaning protocols, processes, and schedules.
  • Provide operational guidance to SCADA Operators, follow Grid Operator Instructions, and communicate energy forecasts and outage information.
  • Develop and document operational and maintenance procedures for the PV Plant.
  • Actively participate in the design review, construction, and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Diagnose and resolve critical equipment issues, ensuring solutions meet quality and HSE standards.
  • Analyze maintenance data and conduct engineering studies to enhance plant reliability and efficiency, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Prepare feasibility studies for new installations or modifications, including technical evaluations, specifications, and cost estimates, and oversee the completion of these modifications.
  • Plan and forecast manpower and material needs to ensure resource availability for maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate and oversee annual maintenance outages for critical electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with OEM recommendations and best practices.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities in the CMMS, including logs of faults, repairs, and resource usage.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HSSE standards, permit-to-work systems, and safety procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Collaborate with the HSE engineer to ensure safety protocols are followed and accidents are investigated and addressed.
  • Lead the procurement planning for equipment, spare parts, and materials, ensuring alignment with maintenance plans and budget constraints.
  • Conduct technical evaluations with the procurement team to recommend appropriate materials and equipment.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with internal teams and external contractors, addressing technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Liaise with contractors and government authorities for operational clarity and compliance with audits and regulations.
  • Manage CMMS processes, ensuring data integrity and adherence to maintenance planning standards.
  • Contribute to organizational change initiatives and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial photovoltaic (PV) farms.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a managerial role within PV plant operations and maintenance.
  • Experience in the construction and commissioning of PV plants is advantageous.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical engineering and problem-solving tools.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management methods, predictive inspection tools, and CMMS is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
