About the Role:
Position Title: Mechanical Manager
Duration: 1-year direct hire contract (potential for renewal) + 1 year
Location: Melaka
Roles:
- Responsible to manage and supervise Mechanical maintenance activities and effective execution of activities as per plan.
- Overall planning coordination and implementation of the plant’s maintenance programmed including scheduled maintenance, outages, and major overhauls.
- Assist the Head of Maintenance across a number of functions, maintenance, operations, purchasing, and coordination the Station’s internal and external audit activity.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Management - Formulate and implement the plant computerized maintenance management programme (CMMS) and spare parts inventory policies to ensure smooth plant operations with minimal environmental impact and optimum maintenance cost. Taking consideration that the ISO standards are complied with.
- Budget and Cost Control - Prepare annual maintenance budget and constantly monitor expenses incurred by maintenance cost centre and ensure entire maintenance is within budget. To review departmental performance regularly and impose cost control measures to achieve company’s overall objectives.
- Internal and External Audit - Plan and coordinate the Station annual internal and external audit assessment by Group Corporate Assurance Department, Insurance, Statutory bodies etc.
- Legal Regulatory Framework - Ensure plant’s equipment and system processes fully comply with statutory regulations and legislation requirement such as annual certificate of fitness renewal, relevant license and permits from DOSH etc.
- Competencies - Ensure relevant field of competencies are obtained and achieved by subordinate who perform the job.
- Inventory Management Framework - Manage the IMF to ensure the availability of the recommended spares to support the respective scheduled inspection and maintenance such BI, CI, HGPI, and MI.
- Disaster Management - Ensure company’s business contingency action plan (CACP) is well disseminated and educated to all employees and to readily act and implement such plan should a disaster take place.
- Risk Management - Assess and evaluate from time to time the risk management strategy as identified by the management and to mitigate the plant risk to an acceptable level.
- Performance Management - Ensure alignment between planned individual performance and the overall goals of the business so as to deliver improved results while eating a high-performance culture.
- Procurement Management - Ensure procurement practises comply with the procurement policies & procedures (PPP) and the limit of authority manual (LOAM).
- Project Management - Identify in-house project needs for equipment, process, and system improvements. To plan, coordinate and implement projects as according to projected timeline with proper drawing, & procedures in place. To ensure the successful executive of the project within the budgeted cost.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from recognized universities/higher learning institutes.
- Steam Engine Engineer Grade 2 (SEEG2)
- Internal Combustion Engineer Grade 2 (ICEEG2)
- Vibration Analysis Level I (VAL1)
- Authorized Entrance and Standby Person (AESP)
- 10 years’ work experience
- Experience in combined cycle power plant maintenance.
- Experience in managing and leading a team of staff.
- Experience in working on SAP system (CMMS) is an advantage.
