To ensure that the fleet is free from Major Accident Events. Prepare and deliver the necessary engineering documents for Process Safety, meet technical specifications on time and within budget, and address any engineering issues that come up.
Core Responsibilities
- Identifies the scope and prepares the scope of work document covering the purpose, criteria and scope of HAZID, HAZOP, FRA, ERA, and QRA, exhaust gas and vent dispersion analysis, dropped object analysis, ship collision analysis, F&G detector mapping study, Evacuation, Temporary Refuge Rescue Analysis (ETRERA), predictive noise study, Structural fire risk analysis, Emergency Systems Survivability Analysis (ESSA), Human Factors Analysis, SIL assessment, and ALARP Evaluation.
- Performs review of arrangement of active fire protection (including coverage), escape route, life saving appliances, fire and gas detectors locations (coverage), PAGA Layout, hazardous area classification and schedule, General Arrangement, exhaust and vents location, Process PFD, P&ID, Marine P&ID, HVAC D&IDs, ESD Philosophy/hierarchy, F&G and ESD C&E, PFP Philosophy/spec/drawings, firewater hydraulic analysis (ring main, deluge, cargo deck foam) and surge analysis, and safety layout.
- Develops Bow‐Ties and prepare Performance Standards for all SCEs identified for the project Performs / Reviews in‐house studies such as dropped object study, 2D vent dispersion study, Evacuation, and Temporary Refuge Rescue Analysis (ETRERA), and any other Technical Notes Performs/reviews in‐house calculation such as fire water and foam demand and cargo vent dispersion using PHAST software.
- Collects and reviews input data for predictive noise study, dropped objects analysis, and exhausts & vents dispersion study, ship collision analysis, Evacuation, and Temporary Refuge Rescue Analysis (ETRERA), etc.
- Reviews technical requisition, technical bid evaluation, vendor documents to highlight any discrepancies for safety systems and verify the design HSE action responses against the drawings and highlight any discrepancies for safety systems.
Qualifications & Relevant Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in Process Safety engineering in oil and gas
- Is aware of applicable industry standards, Company standards, specifications and procedures for his/her functional area.
- Is competent in understanding on process safety inputs as well as accurate usage of data extraction sheet during preparation of process safety deliverables
