SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Location : Kuala Lumpur
Job Purpose
• Verify remeasurement quantities against IFC drawings submitted by subcontractors. • Manage change work, including reimbursable items and verification of clearance documents.
• Prepare monthly cost forecasts based on WCR/MTO and contract values.
• Track SI/CR logs, estimate cost impacts, and notify the project management team.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and assist in final account closure.
• Reconcile materials issued versus actual usage.
• Ensure proper documentation and safe storage of project close-out records in the designated repository.
Job Description
• Review key aspects of subcontract agreements, including general and remeasurement costs.
• Understand the "Method of Measurement," pricing schedules, and unit rates as per contract guidelines to differentiate base and additional scopes.
• Utilize Excel formulas (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, Concatenate, $ sign freeze, etc.) for efficient data analysis and verification of subcontractor documents.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Planning, and Quality teams to track progress, identify change works, and determine root causes.
• Maintain and update SI-Log/COR, CO-Log, and change work completion status, distributing reports to the project management team in coordination with the Lead QS.
• Verify remeasurement quantities submitted by subcontractors based on contract guidelines.
• Assess and validate reimbursable or cost-plus documents, ensuring accuracy and reporting discrepancies.
• Review customs clearance documents for accuracy and compliance, reporting any cost discrepancies or inappropriate documentation.
• Evaluate time & material (T&M) work costs and timesheets, coordinating with subcontractors to finalize cost impacts.
• Reconcile materials issued versus as-built quantities, identifying any excess and ensuring appropriate cost recovery.
• Support the Lead QS in final account closure and ensure proper documentation storage in designated repositories.
Requirements / Qualifications:
A- Level / Fresh Diploma Graduates or Oil & Gas and Marine related Bachelor of Engineering Degree.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Documentum, SharePoint, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of additional languages besides English is an advantage.
Experience:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly in FPSO shipbuilding, shipyard operations, or FPSO repair work (onshore/offshore).
• Experience in related industries such as refineries or process plants is preferred. • Strong expertise in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
• Microsoft Office Certification
• AutoCAD Certification
