(1) Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and corporate policies.
  • Maintain accurate and transparent financial records in line with statutory and internal requirements.
  • Support audits and implement recommendations for improved compliance and risk management.

 

(2) Controlling & Costing:

  • Full responsibility for costing, ensure data accuracy in the ERP system (SAP).
  • Oversee plant controlling activities, provide robust financial analysis and reporting.
  • Develop, monitor, and optimize cost control measures.
  • Provide detailed costing insights to support pricing, operations, and strategic planning.

 

(3) Financial cycles, Reporting & Operational Excellence:

  • Responsible for all financial cycles (monthly closing, budgeting etc) ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Personally assist in and carry out key tasks related to financial cycles.
  • Lead the budgeting process, optimizing financial resources for effective execution.
  • Provide visibility on  financial performance to the plant stakeholders as well as towards the overall Wood business and Unilin corporate levels. Collaborate with teams to drive corrective actions for improved results. Develop and tailor reporting constantly towards these different audiences.
  • Advise operational teams with actionable insights based on financial data analysis.
  • Coach and support non-finance colleagues to improve efficiency and financial goal achievement.
  • Suggest and/or support the implementation of finance related IT initiatives, and IT projects that have impact on financial accounting, controlling or reporting in general. Assess impact of new IT implementations on compliance and financial processes.

 

 

(4) Inventory Control & Stock Management:

  • Oversee and ensure accuracy in inventory records and processes.
  • Perodically, assess adequacy of financial provisions for non-rotating or obsolete stock.
  • Lead and coordinate stock take activities, investigating and resolving variances.
  • Work with the operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and improve their rotation.

 

(5)  Balance Sheet and Fixed Asset Management:

  • Together with plant management and operational leaders, determine an appropriate capex budget to support and maintain the plant in its role within the wood business.
  • Support chosen capex initiatives with (validation of) payback calculations and assist in the prioritization of capex budgets. Check achievement of business case after realization of the project.
  • Periodically assess the valuation of fixed assets to detect unused equipment or gaps in current valuation verus economical value. Lead periodic fixed asset counts.
  • Lead quarterly balance sheet reviews in order to assess accuracy of recorded assets and liabilties and necessary actions for improvements.

 

(6) Stakeholder Management, Operational Support & Financial Awareness:

 

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the Plant Management Team to offer financial insights on key decisions and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for financial inquiries for the management of the overall Wood business, and support implementation of new corporate policies and methods when needed.
  • Engage with operational teams regularly to ensure clarity on financial results, offering insights into how these outcomes influence performance and decision-making.
  • Align financial objectives with operational priorities to drive success.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to improve financial performance and business outcomes.
  • Promote a cost-conscious mindset across the organization to improve efficiency.
  • Design and deliver training programs for non-finance teams to enhance their understanding of financial concepts.

 

(7) Managerial and Team Development, Role Improvements:

  • Lead by example in Safety initiatives and actively demonstrate the company's values and culture.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic insights to drive business growth.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Lead the finance team to achieve business goals by setting clear objectives, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring strong performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment within the finance team through continuous coaching, mentoring, and skill development.
  • Coach and mentor non-finance colleagues, continuously reinforcing the importance of financial principles and their role in contributing to business objectives.
