A global renewable energy IPP company, is looking to hire a Commercial Manager as part of its growing business in Thailand to assist with the development of new projects. This position will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

Responsibilities

- Collaborating with company leadership to ensure sustainable and successful business growth by assuming responsibility for commercial and investment activities.

- Crafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements for projects (such as EPC, PPA, Loan, Insurance, O&M).

- Oversight of financial matters, including cash flow modeling, budgeting, coordinating financial due diligence, and ensuring the commercial viability of projects.

- Managing overall project transactions (SPA, SHA).

- Review Partnership commercial agreements (MOU, JVA, JDA)

- Conducting project valuation and risk assessments.

- Evaluating the credibility and risk of partners and off-takers.

- Cultivating and managing relationships with clients (off-takers) and partners (co-investors).

- Actively participating in and contributing to all reporting processes.

- Overseeing investor relations, which includes preparing for internal investment committees and communicating with external investors.

- Serving as the HQ representative in meetings with vendors, partners, co-shareholders, advisors, financiers, and contractors for transactional and project updates.

- Providing commercial support across HQ International country offices.

 

Requirements

- Resourceful with a strong grasp of finance and business acumen.

- Proficient in reviewing legal documents and terminology, with a keen ability to identify key commercial terms and implications.

- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced organization, adapting quickly and expanding the role as needed.

- Highly motivated and proactive, taking a leadership role and driving initiatives in a flat reporting structure and dynamic environment.

- Exceptionally organized, forward-thinking individual who prioritizes key tasks, execution plans, and stakeholder management.

- Adept at positive presentation, confident in interacting with diverse audiences at various levels, backgrounds, and cultures.

- Proficiency in transacting deals through completion in Thailand is a prerequisite.

- A minimum of 3 years of commercial experience, preferably in-house within the power, energy, or infrastructure sectors.

- Experience in working with or supporting other countries is a plus.

- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.

- Fluent in both Thai and English.

 

Specialization

- Proficiency in Excel-based programming for basic financial modeling.

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience or a strong interest in renewable energy.

- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

- Experience collaborating with other teams in the APAC region.
